Teresa Hug MSN, PMHNP, ACNP

Teresa Hug is a dedicated Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with specialized expertise in nephrology and mental health. In 1999, she graduated from the University of Tennessee Health Science with a master’s degree in Acute and Critical Care. Over the last 26 years, she has gained knowledge and insight in working with the population of patients with chronic kidney disease. Her vast experience includes chronic kidney disease management, end stage renal disease management, vascular access evaluation, and renal transplantation work up and management. In her career, she recognized the ongoing theme of mental health undiagnosed and untreated in the patients affecting the patient’s quality of life. She decided to further her career in the psychiatric and mental health nurse practitioner program. She graduated with Honors from Maryville University with a master’s degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. With a passion for providing holistic care, she combines clinical knowledge in kidney health with a strong understanding of mental wellness, ensuring comprehensive and compassionate treatments for patients facing chronic kidney disease and related mental health challenges.
